FOUR students have won places at Oxford and Cambridge.
Clitheroe Royal Grammar School Sixth Form students received Oxford and Cambridge offers for university entry in September.
Rebecca Smithson (French and linguistics, Merton College, Oxford University), Mark Bumbac (law, Wadham College, Oxford University), Jeevtesh Soni (medicine, Magdalene College, Cambridge University) and Holly Williams (natural sciences, Newnham College, Cambridge University) have all earned places at the two prestigious universities.
Jonathan Powell, deputy headteacher and head of sixth form, said: “They have been identified as having a clear flair and passion for their chosen subject areas and have worked extremely hard, undergoing a very demanding selection process. This has included pre-interview tests, rigorous interviews and additional ‘at-interview’ university tests.
"We wish all four talented students (and indeed all our Year 13 students) every success in the hard work that still lies ahead, studying to achieve the grades.”
