A COMMUNITY clean up of a borough has been organised by a council.

Ribble Valley Council's chief executive reported to the borough's parish councillors about the a community clean up which the council has agreed to take part in next month.

The Great British Spring Clean will involve different community groups and schools who help to clean their local area.

The borough council will provide black bags to parish councils and arrange for collection from a single site, after groups had collected litter and rubbish.

Parish councils have been asked to email Stephen Barker, who is Ribble Valley Council's complaints co-ordinator, with details of their point of contact.

Details of the locations for the bags to be dropped off and collected will also be made.

The event will take place over the weekend from March 2 to March 4.
