A COUNCIL wants to create a new economic survey which outlines its financial activity to people who live in the borough.

Ribble Valley Council wants to bring in an 'economic baseline' which reviews the relevant policies and strategies that impact upon Ribble Valley, such as the Northern Powerhouse and Transport related agencies.

Elected members want to introduce the news study to assist the council in identifying opportunities for economic growth and from which the council can review its wider economic activity.

The study will provide an understanding of the functional economic area for which economic needs can be supported.

The appraisal will enable the council to review its current activities adopted in the economic strategy, including Clitheroe market, transport and infrastructure, tourism and visitor economy and employment land.
