A COMMUNITY group has put out a rallying cry to residents for plans to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.
Whalley local history group, who are made up of Whalley residents, are holding a meeting to discuss how Whalley should mark the centenary of the Great War.
They want to form an action group and generate a plan for future events this year.
Jean Lord, a spokesman for the group, said: "This year armistice falls on remembrance Sunday and it would be fitting that the whole community of Whalley and surrounding villages to celebrate the armistice.
"We want to remember the 65 boys and young men who gave their lives for their country in the Great War."
The meeting will be held at Whalley Church of England Primary school, on The Sands, from 7pm on Tuesday February 6.
