A 500-YEAR-OLD historic home has decked its halls with more than holly in preparation for the coming festive holiday.
Browsholme Hall and the Tithe Barn, on Clitheroe Road, Clitheroe will open its doors for 10 days this December on the Sundays of the 3rd and 10th from 11.30am to 4pm.
The stately rooms and façade have been decorated with more than 15 Christmas trees and themed decorations, including a library that has become a magical children’s playroom.
Guests can enjoy a tour around the house and will be able to browse Christmas stalls in Tithe Barn, which will be selling artisan gifts from local suppliers, followed by light refreshments served in the tea room.
Local historian Simon Entwhistle will be doing a one-off candle lit tour on the evening of the 10th, recounting such ghostly tales as that of the cursed martyr’s skull in the Hall’s cupboard and of the ‘white horseman’ who gallops across the lawn at night.
It will take place at 6.30pm costing £12 for adults and £6 for children.
