FROM Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to zoo licences, the A to Z of services offered by a local council came to life in a tweetathon this week.
Ribble Valley Council joined local authorities across the UK to tweet using the hashtag #OurDay to give residents an insight into the hundreds of jobs councils do every day.
Over 14,000 Twitter accounts across the UK participated in the event generating 45,000 tweets that reached over 31million people.
Ribble Valley Borough Council’s 45 tweets were viewed 26,000 times.
Ken Hind, the leader of Ribble Valley Council, said: “The day was a huge success, with the most popular letter being Z for zoo licences in relation to the popular Bowland Boar Park, which attracted some hilarious pig-related banter from across the UK."
