AN elderly resident was charged £150 for rotting food products on her doorstep, police said.

The out of date food was sold to the woman from West Bradford by two door salesmen.

Ribble Valley police investigated he incident and have urged residents to be vigilant and keep an eye on 'vulnerable neighbours'.

A police spokesman said: "Let people know that they should aways be wary of doorstep sellers and never be afraid to ask for ID."
