AN X Factor favourite from East Lancashire has won a trip to New York to meet American singing sensation, Pink.

Grace Davies, a club singer from Langho, described the moment as the ‘best’ after the news was announced on the X Factor’s second live show on Sunday.

The former warehouse worker was awarded the prize in a Prize Fight against fellow X Factor competitors, Rak-Su, a hip hop group from Watford.

For the first time in the show’s history, the X Factor live shows now include a prize fight at the end of the show rather than a sing-off.

Grace and Rak-Su had to sing their original songs again in a bid to win a singing masterclass with Pink and tickets to see her live at New York's Madison Square Garden.

The public voted for their favourite of the two and the 20-year-old singer from Langho was crowned the weekend winner.

Speaking on the show to presenter Dermot O’ Leary, Grace, said: “This is just the best.

“I think the most heart warming thing for me is that this shows the public want original songs.”

The Ribble Valley singer song writer, who was named as the audience’s ‘Saturday Night Champion’, wowed the judges again with her own song ‘Too Young’ in the first of the ITV hit programme’s live shows on Saturday.

Judge Nicole Scherzinger described Grace’s performance as ‘perfect’ and ‘beautiful’.

The original song has also broken into the top 20 of the iTunes download chart after viewers were able to buy the song.
