A PENSIONER remains in a serious condition in hospital after coming off his motorbike.

Insp John Fryer said the 71-year-old man suffered a fractured neck and bleed on the brain following the incident which happened on the A682 near Newsholme at around 4pm on Friday.

After being found in a ditch by a passer-by the rider, who is from Blackpool, was airlifted to Royal Preston Hospital.

He is still receiving treatment for his injuries.

The man, who was riding a Triumph Thunderbird 885cc at the time of the incident, is thought to have misjudged a bend and come off his vehicle.

Any witnesses are asked to call police on 101.
