SITTING MP Nigel Evans has been selected as Conservative candidate to fight the Ribble Valley constituency in the June 8 General Election.
He was the only candidate at a packed meeting at Clitheroe Conservative Club on Friday evening.
Cllr Ken Hind, the leader elect of the borough council, said: “Nigel was overwhelmingly endorsed.
“He has been a first-class MP for the Ribble Valley for 25 years and if re-elected will fight to ensure we get a good deal out of Brexit.”
