A MAN was cut out of a car after a crash involving a flat bed truck, police said.

Emergency services were called at 7.30am yesterday to the junction of Higher Road and Chaigley Road in Longridge after a Ford Fiesta, a Chevrolet and a truck collided.

A fire service spokesman said a man was cut out of one of the cars using specialist tools.

Motorists were advised to find other routes during their morning commute.

A police spokesman said: “The man was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with serious injuries, potentially to his hip.

“The road was closed and did not reopen until 10.20am.

“It is unclear if anyone else suffered any serious injuries.

“No one was arrested and the extend of the damage caused to the cars is unknown at this stage.”
