A MOTORCYCLIST has been airlifted to Royal Preston Hospital after colliding with a Land Rover on the A59 near Clitheroe.

Police have said the man is conscious but has sustained injuries after a motorbike collided with a Land Rover near the Whalley Road junction.

The section of road between Whalley Road and Pimlico Link Road in Clitheroe has been shut off and are advising drivers to use an alternative route.

A police spokesman said: “The motorcyclist has been air lifted to Royal Preston Hospital with injuries and is currently conscious.

"Drivers are advised to take other routes.

“The closure is between A49 is between the junction at the top of Whalley Road and the junction at Pimlico Link Road in Clitheroe.”
