ONE person was taken to hospital following a fire at a home in Longridge last night.
Firefighters were called to a house in Hesketh Road at around 8.45pm to reports of a bedroom fire.
Two fire engines from Preston and one from Fulwood attended the incident.
When firefighters arrived at the scene they found a room on the first floor was heavily smoke-logged but the fire was already out.
Firefighters helped clear the smoke from the property.
One person was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital.
It is believed that the fire was caused by smoking materials and that a smoke alarm fitted by the fire service alerted the occupier to the blaze.
