A SPATE of night-time vehicle crime in Ribble Valley continued this week with the theft of two trailers.

Two rural premises were targeted and in both cases Ifor Williams trailers were stolen.

The first was on Tuesday night when a 17ft galvanised Ifor Williams 3.5-tonne flatbed trailer was taken from a farmyard off the A682 Gisburn to Blacko Road.

The registration number of the trailer is PR58 CNC.

It is further described as having two spare tyres and brand new brake cables underneath.

The second theft was of an Ifor Williams tipper trailer stolen at 12.40am on Thursday from premises at Bracewell, near Barnoldswick.

The owner witnessed the theft and followed the thieves.

The trailer was eventually recovered in Kelbrook village.

A police spokesman said: “It’s obvious these were targeted thefts.Please take extra care with your trailers and increase security where possible.”

Also on Tuesday, a storage compound in the Read area was broken into. Thieves broke into three motor homes, managing to steal two of them, and tried to steal a third one.
