TEENAGERS have been throwing stones at passing cars in the Ribble Valley in the run-up to Hallowe’en, according to police.

The youngsters have been reported launching projectiles at vehicles in the Eshton Terrace and Mitchell Street areas of Clitheroe.

Now the Neighbourhood Police unit is calling on parents to educate their children about the dangers.

PC Tony Walsh said: “We want people to think how they would feel if someone they care about was hit in the face by an object travelling at speed, which could cause injury and in some cases life-changing injuries. These incidents seem to increase as Hallowe’en approaches and the behaviour of these youths is completely irresponsible.”
