IT’S a feast fit for a king, or at least fancies fit for wealthy Wags.

A Ribble Valley pâtissier created a spread with a difference for a reality TV show focussing on the lives of the spouses of the rich and famous.

Loulou’s Meringues, which is based at Chew Mill Farm, in Elker Lane, Billington, created the spread for a special party on The Real Housewives of Cheshire.

Owner mum-of-three Gemma Rafferty, who works one day a week as a primary school teacher, said: “The meringues and macaroons that I make are very visually appealing and they capture peoples’ imaginations because of how unique they are so I have a popular Instagram account and that is how I was found by The Real Housewives of Cheshire – she found me via Instagram and rang me up personally.

“I have to keep details of the actual event confidential until it is aired on ITVBe but it was an amazing opportunity and I was excited and flattered to be asked to provide themed flavours for every guest in attendance and coordinating table treat jars.”

The first British spin-off of the popular The Real Housewives franchise documents the lives of several affluent housewives in the Cheshire and Greater Manchester area.

It is already on its second series and stars several celebrity wives, including Ampika Pickston, Dawn Ward, Lauren Simon, Leanne Brown, Magali Gorré and Tanya Bardsley along with Chantelle Heskey, wife of Emile Heskey, joining the cast in a recurring role.

Dawn is married to ex-Blackburn Rovers forward Ashley Ward. She has four daughters – Darby, Taylor, Aston and Charlie, and is a well respected interior designer and architect.

The others include Ampika, who owns her own beauty salon and spa, Lauren who is married to businessman Paul, former Burnley loanee Phil Bardsley’s wife Tanya, ex-footballer Dean Gorré’s wife Magali, and Leanne, who is married to ex-Manchester United centre half Wes Brown.

Gemma, who is 38, makes the meringues using eggs laid on her farm and she sells them as either kisses or giants.

She added: “I have always had a passion for cooking, baking and anything creative .

“We been trading for just over six months now and as well as our regular customers purchasing gifts and treats for themselves, I also supply a wide range of local bars and restaurants.

“I particularly enjoy producing bespoke creations.”
