Police are trying to trace the driver of a car after a 16-year-old boy was injured last week outside Billington Brass Band Club.

At around 3.50pm last Thursday (14 May), a white car thought to look like a Ford Fiesta or similar, braked suddenly on Abbey Mews, causing the 16-year-old boy who was driving a moped to swerve to avoid being hit.

As a result, he came off the moped and suffered cuts and bruising.

The vehicle drove off towards Whalley old Road in the direction of Wilpshire.

PC 2821 Mike Smith from the Blackburn Road Policing Unit said: “I would like to speak to the driver of the vehicle and urge anyone with information about this incident to contact us.”
