The 28-year-old is taking on a marathon a month in 2015 in a variety of obscure locations across the globe.

The Ribchester runner’s plans come after he completed 18 marathons in 18 days in 2013 and ran from Preston to Ypres in five days earlier this year.

Dave is due to enter talks with the leading airline companies in the New Year to enquire about using a plane for his world record attempt.

He has also been promised the use of a private jet for the challenge, which could be held in the summer.

He would use a treadmill on board the plane to complete his challenge.

The dad-of-two attended Ribblesdale High School, in Clitheroe, before joining the Army in 2003 when he was 16.

He served in countries including Iraq, Germany and Cyprus as a Kingsman in the Duke of Lancaster Regiment before leaving in 2008.

Dave said: “I have recently been diagnosed with a deficiency of serotonin, which means that I don’t get the same sense of well-being as other people. For example, when I completed the run from Preston to Belgium I really enjoyed it while I was doing it but afterwards I didn’t feel much at all, which was weird.

“I went to the doctor and after a series of tests I was told about the lack of serotonin. As a result I have become addicted to running and I do it full-time now and get up at around 4.30am every day.

“I just don’t have the same fire in my belly from doing anything else and I’m constantly looking for new challenges and records to break. I love being different that’s one of the reasons why I keep on trying to take on challenges.

“Talks are on-going at the moment about several obscure locations for marathons later this year and if the finances are there I will take on anything, anywhere in the world.”

At the end of this year Dave is also planning to break the world record running time from Lands End to John O’Groats which currently stands at nine days and 20 hours.
