LIBRARIES in Ribble Valley are mounting a series of events to encourage children to read in the holidays.

At Chatburn children can write and publish their own stories online every Saturday until August 30. A reading club takes place every Thursday at 2pm.

There will be mythical stories and activities at Clitheroe Library every Tuesday from 10.30am and every Friday from 2pm.

Every Wednesday at Whalley library there is a free storytime for four to nine-year-olds from 2pm and every Friday at 4pm.

Free craft activities for five to 11-year-olds will be at Longridge Library from 10am to 11am every Tuesday in August.
