LibDems hold key over power talks at Pendle Council (From Lancashire Telegraph)

Have another election. do not get into bed with the lib dems. Any party who would sacrifice all their principals for a sniff of power is not worth talking to. Dump them.

Work together for the best interest and take the opportunity to get your political agenda to the fore. If you aren't in a position to influence the decisions and to get your policies implemented then whats the point in being in politics?

Sieze the opportunity - coalitions are the way forward, compromise is the key word, give a little to get a lot.

Educate people that working in a coalition does not mean that you sacrifice all your principles - it means you get to actually influence what is decided!

OMG. Judging by their antics at Wasteminster, I shudder to think of a coalition with the Lib-Dems here in Pendle.
Seeing how they have behaved over the past two years, it makes you realise what a wishy washy government we would have if they ever had total power.

Midus says work together for the benefit of Pendle. That's the mandate that the people of Pendle have handed down to our local Cllr's. It would be an opportunety lost if the Lib-Dems got into bed with Labour. You only have to look how the Labour goup have run Nelson Area Committee to see how missed managed they are. A coalition of the three main parties working TOGETHER.

I have seen Libcon and Labour party politic's first hand over a Planning Application, was totally amazed by what I saw !!!!

The Planning Application was secondary to the sqabble between the 2 parties, and was passed solely on the fact that there were more lib's than lab's !!!!

Left a bitter taste in my mouth to local politic's !!!

Why the h*ll they don't use common sense to sort local issue's out is anybodies guess, but one thing is for sure, the ONLY ONE that serves the people of Pendle is the man who everyone hates, the BNP man!!!!!!

I have NEVER seen any other serving Councillor walking the street's cleaning up litter like this man does, and is the ONLY one that actually talks sense and has the best at heart for the people of Pendle.

I know at least 2 libcon's who take take take and only seem to serve on the Council so they can milk the coffers !!! Both I might add are high profilers of the libcon's, and one actually brags about how much he cons out of our empty coffers!!!

And, yes I did Vote, but the Vote was rigged, everyone knows about it, but no one will lift the lid !!!!!!!

Let me guess - tuition fees. Is that it? A system which was unfair before and we couldn't afford, has been replaced by one much fairer on the poorest students and we can afford.

What decision have the Lib Dems made which didn't have the best interests of the people at heart.

Labour - you can clearly point to huge numbers of decisions which only favour public sector, i.e. unionised, people.

Conservatives - you can clearly point to huge numbers of decisions which favours the rich.

How about wanting not only closer ties to Europe but also joining the Euro? How about not wanting to stop mass immigration? How about wanting to cover the country with wind farms? How about not wanting to clamp down on benefit fraud? How about wanting to keep on letting unelected European judges overide our laws?
