THE owners of a dog grooming and kennelling business have launched an appeal against an order to cease trading.
Councillors on Pendle’s Colne Committee have given permission for an outbuilding at Lower Beardshaw Head, in Burnley Road, Trawden.
However, members have not given the go-ahead for the building to be used as part of any business.
In June, they approved enforcement action against the site owners for allegedly running dog grooming and kennelling business from the building. The owners have now lodged an appeal against the action.
After this month’s Colne Committee meeting, Coun George Askew said: “Councillors and neighbours have expressed their concerns about the potential use of the building as a grooming and kennelling business.
“I will be working with council officers and local residents to reach a satisfactory conclusion to this issue.”
