Lead thieves strike at Pendle church
3:43pm Thursday 16th June 2011 in Trawden
LEAD worth £1,000 has been stolen from the roof at St Mary the Virgin Church, Trawden.
Thieves scaled a drain-pipe before making off with the lead.
Sgt Damian Pemberton said: “There has been a spate of lead thefts and I would urge people to remain vigilant around out-buildings.
“If anybody witnesses any suspicious activity, they should report it to the police.”
