VILLAGERS have urged the police and parish council chiefs to be vigilant after a series of cat deaths at a beauty spot.
Parish councillors in Trawden have been told that four felines have been found on the Tram Tracks, and another cat was missing.
Residents in White Lees Avenue say it appears the cats had been savaged by a dog.
PC Hilary Gregson, community beat manager for Trawden, said she had received no reports of any new dog walkers in the area.
The officer told councillors she would monitor the situation.
Coun Beverley Robinson said a neighbour had reported an injured cat, which appeared to have been snared in a trap.
