Nelson man broke court order by getting back with his ‘ex’

A MAN banned from seeing his ex-partner by a court order had got back with her, a court was told.

Christopher Kerr, 27, had been at Nicola Dean’s house and was said, by her friends, to have been standing over her when she was sitting down.

He looked angry, she seemed scared and he left.

Kerr then returned later, burst into the living room, smashed a laptop, punched the television, and was shouting and swearing, it was alleged.

Burnley magistrates heard claims that the defendant and Ms Dean were said to have started up their relationship again last December.

She was said to have wanted the restraining order, imposed when he was jailed for assaulting her last October, revoked.

She had asked him round and was “complicit” in the breach he committed.

Kerr, it was said, had been packing his belongings at the time of the offence, and Ms Dean was said to be asking him to stay.

He did not want the relationship to continue.

The defendant, of Fir Street, Nelson, admitted breaching the order, on July 13.

He was sentenced to 12 weeks in custody, suspended for nine months, and must pay £85 costs.
