Homes plan for Nelson depot site

PENDLE Council’s former park’s department depot looks set to be turned into housing.

Councillors in Nelson will consider the plans to knock down the now unused depot at Marsden Hall Farm, in Walton Lane, and build ten houses on Monday.

Borough planning officers are recommending the scheme for approval.

Kathryn Hughes, planning officer, said: “The site is currently vacant and was last used by the council as the parks depot which has now been relocated elsewhere.”

You are so right my man. Pendle council do not have a good track record when it comes to property negotiations. Years ago they gave Barnfield the land on which to build Lomeshaye Industrial Estate. More recently they paid £500,000 more that they should have for Brierfield Mills. Mind you what does it matter. It is only taxpayers money after all.

...I'll take the bet that it won't be sold to Barnfields at a cut down price.

Hang on a minute the buildings that was used by the parks dept are they not part of the old Marsden Hall complex. Is the planning Dept trying to get rid of part of the history of Marsden Hall if so the Nelson Area Committee should refuse this planning application. the park belongs to the people
