The car park needs to be demolished to prevent this kind of thing happening again. My thoughts are with the man's family.

It's not the fault of the council or the carpark owners - if someone kills themselves then it is down to them.

As im the member of youth parliament for Pendle, i have already spoken to the chairman of Pendle Borough Council in hope that atleast measures can be in place. The idea of demolishing the building wouldnt work. As it is really big and i doubt the owners will agree. What can be done however, is safety measurements set in place. I was going to nelson around 5:00 but decided to get off at Colne. Luckily i didnt have to witness such an event. My condolences go to Family and Friends.

The last thing a person suffering from suicidal thoughts thinks off is the impact on passers by and even their family. Depression makes people think only of themselves. It is easy for people to judge others, but unless you have suffered depression or have a loved one suffering you really should keep your ill-informed opinions to yourself. R.I.P

I'm not suggesting this isn't tragic in anyway, it is without question but MFORT66 makes a valid point, you may not agree with him/her but how would you feel if he had landed on your child or wife/husband and killed them? Your opinion would be some what different I would suggest. So instead of telling people to keep their opinions to themselves why don't you try and look at the bigger picture and realise that it's not always about the person that decides to throw themselves off a car

The carpark has been a location for suicides far too long and it is time the council took steps to prevent further tragedies. Whilst agreeing people will find away to commit suicide it dosent stop the councils responsiblity to prevent loss of life wherever possible.
Once again the owners of this site have to ask themselves some serious moral if not legal questions.

It is horrific when people feel there is no other option available to then and that suicide is the only way out but why risk taking others with them? Perfect example in this case, he was struck by a passing car as he unfortunately lay in the road. Moments earlier the driver and or passengers of that car could also have been killed or seriously injured.
