AN EAST Lancashire man is among seven who have been charged after drug raids in Rochdale.

Officers searched properties in Lancashire, West Yorkshire and Staffordshire as part of a drug dealing investigation on Thursday.

Officers have recovered 14kg of Class A drugs, with a street value of around £1million, as well as £80,000 in cash. Nasir Ali, 37, of Railway Street, Nelson, is one of the seven men who have been charged with conspiracy to sell drugs.

The other six men included Mohammed Khan, 27, Mohammed Hoque, 21, Mudasar Khan, 28 , Tariq Hussain, 23, Raja Khan, 26, all from Rochdale, and Zain Ahmed, 23, from Halifax.

Detective Inspector Lee Griffin said: “I’d like to thank the public for sharing information with us, as it has helped with the action.”

The men have been remanded in custody and are due at Manchester magistrates court later today.
