The Thatch and Thistle pub in Nelson
A NELSON pub is set to undergo a six-figure refurbishment, creating eight jobs in the process.
The Thatch & Thistle on Surrey Road has now closed and will have a new bar area when it reopens on May 16.
The bar area will feature contemporary tiling and a modern finish. The sports viewing area will have high-quality sound systems from multiple screens. The beer garden will also be extended with more seating.
Emma Thompson, Thatch & Thistle general manager, said: “We’re really excited to get the refurbishment under way and look forward to welcoming our revamped venue when it officially opens.
“A launch party will feature our Wednesday night quiz and an added bingo jackpot.”
