EAST Lancashire tribute singer Claire Eccleston will appear on BBC One’s latest hit talent show this weekend.

The Nelson-based communications worker will be joined by her singing partner Steve Hunt for BBC One show All Together Now.

The show sees a range of talented singers take to the stage to perform in front of The 100, a unique panel of music experts and performers from all over the UK.

Earby-based singing sensation Kiki Deville will join former Spice Girl Geri Horner as a judge on the show, presented by comic Rob Beckett.

If any of The 100 like what they hear, they can stand up, join in and sing along.

The duo, known as Stash, travel around the country performing a mixture of hits from the 50s to the present day and were invited for an audition in October.

Ms Eccleston said: “Steve applied and didn’t tell me so when we were invited down to an audition in London it was a complete surprise.

“It all happened really quickly for us because we only applied in October and it was due to be filmed in November.

“The show was amazing. It’s a completely different format to any other talent show, they’ve never done anything like this before.

“There are no nasty comments from the judges and everyone goes away feeling good about their performance and about themselves.

“There have been some negative comments from viewers, but I think they’re just getting used to the format.”

Claire is not the first in her family to appear on the small screen.

In 2016 she supported her daughter Cody Frost, who made it to the final of The Voice but lost out to Chorley-born singer and former Liberty X star Kevin Simm.

The 43-year-old said: “It was funny for me because Cody was on The Voice and I remember watching her go through the process.

“I didn’t tell her anything about it until I found out it was definitely happening.

“She was the one in the audience cheering me on for a change.”

The greater the number of The 100 that join in, the higher the act’s score. At the end of the series, one act will walk away with a cash prize of £50,000.
