A 35-YEAR-old man who took pity on his ex-partner when she turned up soaking wet at his home was arrested for breaching bail conditions.
Blackburn magistrates heard Brian Anthony Evans opened the door of his Burnley home to Rebecca Kearsley after she had walked all the way from Nelson in the pouring rain.
Gareth Price, defending, said his client knew he should have shut the door on her but she was soaked through and instead he let her in.
“She came to his home and there is no suggestion of any further offending,” said Mr Price.
Evans, of Grey Street, Burnley, had previously pleaded not guilty to assaulting Miss Kearsley.
