RESIDENTS are invited to join Pendle’s Dementia Action Alliance in taking part in the world’s largest event to raise awareness about dementia.
The 6k memory walk on Sunday, September 3, will raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.
The walk starts at Victoria Park Pavilion, Nelson at 10.30am.
Gill Dickson, who helps to co-ordinate Pendle Council’s support on health issues including dementia, said: “Please come and join us on a walk to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society.”
Pendle’s Mayor, Councillor David Whalley who is also Pendle’s Dementia Champion said: “This is a fitting start to the walk. The Pavilion will be the first community venue recognised for working to become Dementia Friendly in Pendle.”
