A MAN has been fined £220 after being found guilt of dropping a cigarette.
Burnley magistrates heard how Adam Richardson, 35, committed the offence in Vaughan Street, Nelson on January 30.
Richardson, of Rhoda Street, Nelson, denied a single charge of throwing down, dropping or otherwise depositing litter in a place to which section 87 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 applied.
He was found guilty by magistrates.
Richardson was ordered to pay £300 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
Magistrates ruled that the charges, which total £500, must be paid in full be July 21.
