A 36-YEAR-OLD man from Colne has been arrested on suspicion of an attempted knifepoint robbery in Nelson.
The incident happened at around 7.15am on Thursday in Rakeshouse Road near to the junction of Leeds Road.
Police said two men got out of a silver coloured Volswagen Golf and stopped a 23-year-old man on his way to work.
Officers said they made demands for money, grabbed him by the neck and one of the men produced a knife from his pocket and pushed it against the victim’s stomach.
The Colne man has been released on bail pending further enquiries until Saturday, April 1.
