The MP said that people of 'outstanding merit' should receive an honour and follow in the footsteps of the likes of Penelope Keith and Steven Burke.
Mr Stephenson said: "Following the publication of the Queen’s Birthday Honours list I'm encouraging Pendle residents to nominate local people of outstanding merit'
"In the last few years former Pendle resident Penelope Keith, star of hit television comedy series 'The Good Life' and 'To The Manor Born', was made a Dame and Barrowford campaigning mother Penny Clough MBE, Colne Olympic cyclist Steven Burke MBE and Laneshaw Bridge Head teacher Eileen Bleasdale OBE were all recognised by the system.
"To nominate someone for an honour you can download the forms and guidance notes via the Cabinet Office website or contact my office and we'd be happy to help."
