STUDENT stylists stole the show at a sixth form’s spring showcase.

Trainee hairdressers from Nelson and Colne College sharpened their scissors to exhibit their creativity at their annual Hairdressing Competition Evening in Colne Muni.

The apprentices competed in six categories to impress judges Fran Wilson, Dave Hall, Jonathan Neale, Janine Taylor, Michaela Ashforth, and last year’s level three winner, Tyler Potts.

Curriculum leader for hairdressing Claire Pye said: “The night was busy, fabulous and once again amazing.

“The standard of the students’ work on display was a reflection of their motivation, dedication, enthusiasm, and of course their tutors’ continuous support. The event was even bigger and better than ever, with a huge variety of student, including 73 level one students.”

Winners on the evening were Elena Glasgow, Irm Qayum, Karrie Ann Washington, Charlene Higham, Chelsey Hartley, Charlie Bowling and Sobia Hussain.
