Policing insight on tour of HQ

LANCASHIRE'S police chief welcomed guests to the force headquarters this week for an insight into police work.

Guests won a day out at Hutton after they placed bids for A day with Lancashire Constabulary' at the Lancashire Partnership Against Crime annual charity dinner in December.

Chief Constable Steve Finnigan showed visitors around the mounted branch, fingerprints unit, the pioneering EvoFit system - a new facial composite database which can construct a likeness of a criminal's face - the firearms and wildlife teams, and the communications room.

Guests included Dennis Mendoros, Deputy Lieutenant of Lancashire and managing director of Euravia Engineering, Kelbrook; Karen Clegg, training and development consultant at Boots Plc; and Peter Macgregor, managing director of logistics company Macgregor Europe, based in Barrowford, and his wife Kath.
