AN open day is being held next week at the site of a £1.1million marina being built on the Leeds-Liverpool Canal at Reedley.
The man behind Reedley Marina, Jason Fildes, is staging the open day, where members of the public will be able to see at first hand exactly what is in store when the site opens later this summer.
Mr Fildes said: "There is a real need for a marina here. The closest are in Chorley to the west and Skipton to the east, so Reedley Marina will open up this region to a host of new visitors.
"It will have wonderful views across Pendle Hill and the surrounding countryside, so I am sure it will become a very popular stopping-off point on the waterway."
When complete in August, the marina will have 100 berths. Reedley Marina Open Day takes place on Sunday, May 18, from 11.30am to 4pm, with a complimentary lunch from 12.30pm.
For more information on the marina, call Barden Mill on 01282 420333.
