A GREAT grandfather has died just days after his wife following a horror smash on the couple’s 65th wedding anniversary.
Stewart Graham died in hospital today having suffered serious injuries, including a broken neck, in the accident which killed his wife Norah.
Mrs Graham was a front seat passenger in the car being driven by her husband when it crashed in Barrowford Road, Fence.
They are thought to have been on their way home from a celebratory lunch when the crash happened at 1.35pm on Wednesday last week.
The couple, both 85, had retired to Fence after living and working in Accrington.
They leave son Paul and daughter Eileen, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Following the head-on crash, the 52-year-old female driver of the other vehicle and a passenger were taken to hospital with whiplash but were later discharged.
