A FUND-raising committee has been formed to help upgrade a playground in Fence.
Parish councillors in Old Laund Booth have invited members of the fundraising committee to their next meeting, at Fence Village Hall, on September 2, to explain more about their work.
Coun Gavin Roper has pledged to arrange a beer festival, to boost the fledgling group’s coffers.
And Coun Dianne Hall has been nominated by the parish council to be their representative on the fundraising collective.
Already a grant of £1,400 has been approved by the Barrowford and Western Parishes Committee. Parish councillors have also agreed that if there is any money left over from other grants than it should be redirected to the play area.
