A DRINK driver paid the price of a pint of strong lager with a 16 month driving ban at Burnley Magistrates' Court.
The bench had been told how Angela Hyland, 43, gave a test showing 56 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit is 35.
The defendant, of Burnwood Road, Earby, admitted drink driving in New Road, Earby, on February 5. Hyland, who had no previous convictions, was also fined £200, with a £15 victim surcharge and must pay £50 costs.
Andrew Robinson, prosecuting, said the defendant was stopped by police at 8.55pm after they received information. A roadside breath test proved positive and she was arrested and taken to the police station, where she co-operated.
John Rusius, defending, said Hyland had been driving for 25 years and this was a blemish on her record.
Her husband had asked her to pick him up at the pub after he played a game of pool. The game was not finished and she had a pint of lager while waiting. Hyland felt fine to drive.
