Council to watch Earby club condition

COUNCILLORS will continue to monitor Earby Sports and Social Club to ensure it doesn’t fall into a dilapidated state.
The New Road club lies within a conservation area and notices have previously been issued to ensure it is tidy.
Kathryn Hughes, of Pendle Council, said: “A site visit took place on August 16.
"The site is relatively tidy at present with the ground floor windows boarded with timber.
“Although this site is within the conservation area, it is in an acceptable short-term condition whilst a longer-term solution is found.
It is recommended that a land registry search be undertaken to establish the current owner of this site and that it be added to the problem buildings list for monitoring until it is either re-opened or any future development takes place.”
