6:30pm Monday 22nd August 2011 in Earby
ALLOTMENTS dedicated to a long-time resident of Earby have been opened in the town.
The Sam Lawson Allotments in Cemetery Road were opened by Mr Lawson on Saturday.
The allotments were provided using funding from Lancashire County Council, West Craven Committee and Earby Town Council.
Earby town councillor Vera Cocker said: “Sam had a fall earlier on in the week, but despite the 15 stitches in his head he still insisted on coming.”
Before unveiling a sign and cutting the ribbon, Sam said: “I wouldn’t have missed this for the world.”
