THE leader of Pendle council has rejected former Mayor Rosemary Carroll’s apology over a ‘highly-offensive and racist’ post she shared on social media.
She said she meant to remove the four letter word spattered ‘joke’ and has deleted her Facebook account.
Earby’s Cllr Carroll, suspended by the Conservative party, said she hoped her apology would suffice.
Cllr Mohammed Iqbal, Labour leader of Pendle, said: “It is too little too late.
“It’s clearly accepted by Cllr Carroll she did share the posting but she seems to be making excuses. The honourable thing is to resign immediately.”
