Colne soldier used obscene language towards police

A SOLDIER home on leave was arrested in Colne after using ‘obscene language’ towards police, a court heard.

Nathan Akers, 20, has completed two tours of Afghanistan with the 45 Royal Marine Commandos and is due to go back in October.

Akers, who has post traumatic stress disorder which has led to the hair loss condition, alopecia, is currently on a supervision order, Burnley magistrates heard.

Akers, of Thursden Place, admitted being drunk and disorderly, in Market Street, on June 16. The bench gave him an absolute discharge as he had spent nine hours in custody. Chairman Tony Winder told him: “We are also aware that this will be dealt with by your commanding officer as well.”
