  • "@Miss_Redd Are you kidding? As soon as one word of my accent is heard, people look, and if anyone's in speaking distance, I get bombarded with all the questions. I feel like a broken record =)

'East Lancashire is the friendliest place in the world'

AN all-American recruit at an IT firm is convinced East Lancashire is one of the friendliest places in the world.

Jonathan Browne, 44, has been brought in to head up the sale operation at Holker Network Solutions in Pendle.

And after swapping Conneticut for Colne, Jonathan is sure he made the right move by the warm welcome has received.

The Nutmeg State native is currently living in Blackburn and is using his experience of Stateside sales techniques to get ahead.

His trans-Atlantic accent has already proved a talking point among customers from across the East Lancs area.

Jonathan said: “This is all so exciting for me and if there is a friendlier or more welcoming place anywhere in the world than East Lancashire then I would like to see it.”

The Michigan State University political science graduate came to the UK to settle with his fiancee and is now happy to call Lancashire home.

He added: “Holker is a company with a big heart and a great philosophy. The guys here just want to do the best they can for clients and from what I hear and see their best is excellent.

“I like to think I can add to the mix with my experience and determination to succeed. IT is competitive, you have to be good to survive, but I feel the business is set to take off in a big way.”
