SUPERCARS were on show as a business celebrated its 18th birthday in style.

Spectators were given the chance to view cars including a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, BMW M2, two Bentley's, a Defender and Rolls-Royce.

The high-speed cars were on show during 'Supercar Saturday' to mark Colne-based XLCR Vehicle Management Limited's birthday.

Friends, neighbours and the community were invited to the event as the company opened its doors to celebrate and raise money for good causes.

Organised by XLCR, who are a contract hire and leasing company based at XLCR House in Albert Road, the event featured a number of exciting activities.

These included the company's fleet of supercars, an F1 simulator, The Stig, charity raffle, competitions and Scalextric racing.

Other activities included facepainting, the Great Colne Bake Off and a charity car wash.

There was also a chance to win a ride in an XLCR supercar.

Funds raised will go to Wil's Wishes, Sibes and Sled Dogs, Colne in Bloom, BK's Heroes and Friends of Cravenside.

People also had to chance to look around the company's head office in Albert Road in what proved to be a great family event.

Around 1,000 people attended the event.

Rebecca Cocker, who works at XLCR and who was one of the organisers of the event, said: "The aim of this event was to increase local knowledge about what we do.

"There was lots of interest and a positive reaction to the event

"During the event, people had the chance to come into our office headquarters to look at the substantial renovation works that have taken place.

"Supercars on show included a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, BMW M2, two Bentley's, a Defender and Rolls-Royce.

"The day proved to be really successful with around 1,000 people there.

"A number of local groups attended including Colne in Bloom, Cravenside who did the raffle and Wil's Wishes who did the face painting.

"It was a really great family event and celebration of XLCR.
