A CRIMINAL investigation has been launched after a car was 'deliberately' set on fire.
The incident happened in North Street, Colne, at 5.20am on Christmas day.
One crew from Colne Station attended the incident and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using two hosereel jets.
Nobody was injured and a fire service spokesman confirmed the incident is being treated as arson.
The car was severely damaged.
The fire service spokesman said: "A fire engine and crew from Colne attended an incident at which a car was on fire, the fire having been started deliberately.
"Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used two hosereel jets with foam injected into the water to extinguish the fire.
"There were no casualties. Police notified of the suspected arson."
