A MAN has denied stabbing the manageress of Colne Lidl in the arm with a ‘dirty’ needle.

Nicholas John Fallon, 36, of Cleveland Street, Colne, appeared at Burnley Crown Court over video link and pleaded not guilty to a single charge of wounding Stephanie Moss with intent to cause her grievous bodily harm.

At an earlier hearing Fallon pleaded guilty to shoplifting at the store. That was in relation to £75 worth of steak.

Both offences are said to have taken place on September 28 of this year.

Judge Beverley Lunt said: "I have fixed your trial date for February 27 at Burnley Crown Court. There is going to be a further hearing on December 22. All the evidence will be collated and you will have a chance to go through it with your solicitors. I remand you in custody until then."
