POLICE are appealing for a dog walker who may have witnessed an assault in which a man was left fighting for his life to come forward.
Police said the man, who is in his 50s, was still fighting for his life at Royal Preston Hospital last night following the incident in Venables Avenue, Colne, at 11.20am on Tuesday. A 64-year-old man, a 40-year-old man, a 41-year-old man and a 25-year-old man all from Colne were arrested at a nearby property on suspicion of wounding with intent. They were still in custody last night.
Det Chief Insp Geoff Hurst said : “We are particularly keen to speak to a dog walker who we believe was in Venables Avenue. If this was you, please contact us.”
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
