The charity invests in music-making projects for children and young people experiencing difficulty in life.

The musician was inspired to donate to the charity following the murder of 14-year-old Alice Gross in 2014.

Alice went to the same school as Mr Riley’s nephew in London and he was very moved by the dedication that Alice’s mother has shown to preserve the memory of her daughter.

Alice went missing in August 2014 and her body was found in the River Brent a month later.

Prime suspect and convicted killer Arnis Zalkalns from Latvia was found hanged four days after police discovered her body. A coroner ruled he had taken his own life.

Speaking about the launch of the album, David said: “Songs From Saturday Mourning has been a labour of love that I’ve been working on for the past two years.

“A couple of the songs were written earlier than this, but I still felt they had a place on the album, the rest were written and recorded between 2014 and 2015.”

“The proceeds of Alice’s memorial page are also donated to Youth Music in memory of Alice who was a keen musician.

“I’d certainly say the album has been life changing. It’s made me feel blessed, having the ability to do what I love, while enabling others who are less fortunate.”

As well as a singer-songwriter, Mr Riley is the proprietor of A White Room, the contemporary furniture show room that was at the epicentre of Colne’s Lancashire Capital of Cool last year.

The album is available to download now from www.rizmusic.co.uk.

The singer is asking for fans to make donations when they buy the CD which costs £10, there will also be a limited number of CDs to buy.

The launch will take place at the bar on Saturday, December 19.
